Johnson City Quilters Guild met Thursday, October 25th, 2007 at the Catholic Church in Johnson City. We had an exciting and productive meeting beginning with the election of new officers for 2008. They are: President, Janie Moreland—Vice president, Charlotte Matthews—Treasurer, Marjorie Latham.
We decided to do a “Walk For Life” quilt again with each member asked to bring to the January meeting two 12 ½” blocks with mostly pink. Marjorie Latham will be putting the blocks together and we will be ready to sell chances for Relay for Life in April.
Marjorie Latham spoke to us about “Threads of Love”, an outreach for premature babies who need tiny clothing and 20” quilts. She will be working with us after she attends the meeting in November. We will be making small quilts.
Jane Murrell is planning a Mystery Challenge for next year. Her challenges are always a lot of fun. Marjorie Latham will have the program when we resume meeting in January. Our next meeting will be January 24, 2008 at 7:00 pm at the Catholic Church in Johnson City. See you there.
