*****According to news at Ronnie’s BBQ, Rodney didn’t find the prize egg at Hartmann’s Easter egg hunt. Joe Casparis said he will get it next year.
*****The Friends of the Johnson City Library are excited to acquire some fabulous, matted photographs from the Carol Watson Studio. They are for the Silent Auction during Library Week Book Sale being held April 12th through April 17th. Final bids will be accepted no later than 2:00 pm, April 17th. Friday and Saturday, April 16th & 17th, are 1/2 price days on everything in the sale. Don’t miss out!
*****The Second graders of LBJ Elementary enjoyed Sea World on Tuesday, April 6th.
*****This is to inform the friends and relatives about Velda Haley Collins passing away in Walbridge, Ohio where she lived. She is survived by one son, Mark, and several grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack, and a daughter, Jorjanna, Her parents, Earl and Georgie Haley and two sisters and a brother. Velda grew up in Johnson City and will be remembered and missed by all who knew her.
*****Don’t forget the Emergency Services Auxiliary (ESA) Huge Garage Sale is April 8th, 9th, & 10th at the North Blanco County EMS building at 105 Bill Watson Drive. Remember the proceeds go to our local fire and EMS departments.
*****Bill and Janey Weimers recently went to San Diego on Amtrak. They spent three days in San Diego visiting the Zoo, whale watching in the ocean, walking on Coronado beach and visiting several sites in Balboa Park including the Timkin Art Museum and the Botanical garden. According to Janey, the city is beautiful, the food was wonderful and the weather was fantastic. They returned to San Antonio on Amtrak. A great vacation!
*****Lots of Easter activities this weekend: Big Easter Egg hunt at Faith Christian Church on Saturday. Also, on Saturday evening at First Baptist Church was the "My Redeemer Lives" cantata performed by their choir. Of course, the Ministerial Alliance sponsored the Easter Sunrise Service. Besides each church in Johnson City offered their own special Easter worship service.
*****Brandon Weiershausen & family was seen having lunch at Ronnie’s BBQ on Monday, April 5th, with some friends. It was so busy, he was even pressed into service behind the counter & it was his day off! Brandon & his family live in Austin.
*****Also seen at Ronnie’s on Monday was Taylor Summy taking her "Momster" Rita Summy out to lunch before heading back to classes after Easter break.

*****Tip for the week: Put a label with your name and phone number on things you carry around with you and can easily misplace, such as your cell phone, camera, wallet, etc. Or leave a business card in your wallet and bag. If someone finds your lost item, he can easily contact you. If a lost item is not labeled and an owner can’t be identified, it will be hard to find its way back to the owner.
