Do you remember when I shared with you about quilt blocks painted on the sides of barns in rural Virginia, Iowa and other states on our visit to Maine. I wanted to build a barn just so I could paint a quilt block on it.
Well, the quilt block craze has gone suburban. Quilt lovers are getting in on the action everywhere. They are painting quilt blocks on garage door panels. Some garage doors have as many as 12 different blocks. That makes a sampler quilt.
We can start watching in cities now for quilt blocks. Wouldn’t that be a great way to get people to come to your town? They could do a driving tour of Blanco County and see how many quilt blocks they could find or maybe they would be lucky and find a sampler quilt on someone’s garage door. Just a thought!
Quilting is an art and we are suppose to be supporting the arts in Blanco County. We have many artists here and it would be great to show off their quilting work.
Happy Quilting, Janie
