*****On Monday, October 29th, Donna McCormick was honored with a birthday lunch at Silver K. About twenty guests helped her celebrate her big day.

*****Becky Crider’s daughter and son in law, Jenny and Danny Leschak from Tucson were visiting last week. Speaking of Becky, by the time you read this, she will be retired from Pedernales Electric Coop. Congratulations to Becky!

*****Wells DeLeon, son of Lisa and Jeffrey DeLeon, was treated to a birthday party at the City Park on Sunday. Family and friends joined in a baseball game and ended the day with presents and snacks.

*****Plans are in the works for a humongous reunion of the classes of 1933 through 1979. It will be held on Saturday, June 7th at the new LBJ High School. The first planning meeting was held on Tuesday, October 23rd at the First Baptist Church. Next planning meeting will be at 7:00 pm on November 13th at the First Baptist Church. Come and help plan the fun! Bring all the addresses and/or emails of graduates and classmates of the years between 1933 and 1979. The last big reunion was held five years ago and did not include as many classes and 339 students and spouses attended. Wow!

*****The “Glory Girls” met for the first time in several months at the First Christian Church. This is a group of ladies from all over town that enjoy a potluck supper, a devotional program and lots of good fellowship. Everyone welcome!

*****Welcome home to Larry Milner! He is finally back in Johnson City after a consulting trip to Iraq. Larry has many stories of his trip to that war torn country.

*****Congratulations to the Order of Eastern Star (OES) of Johnson City. They celebrated their 100th birthday on Sunday at the Blanco County Fair Grounds. Approximately sixty people attended the celebration. Jewel Sultemeier has been a member of OES for over 60 years. Other members over the fifty year membership mark were Lila Gene Hobbs and Louise Felps. Look forward to another 100 years!

*****You might be a Johnson City native if you remember when you had holes in the collars of all of your “club wear” from the red tickets at Ed’s.

*****Happy Birthday wishes to: November 7th – George Byars. Kristi Monkhouse; November 8th – Cindy Sultemeier, Camilla Pilgrim, Bunny Johnson, Lea Elsbury, and Jerry Hobbs; November 9th – Lillian Gipson, Wade North, Don Liesmann, Kyle Simpson, Debbie Sultemeier, and Mattie Sultemeier; November 10th – Genevia Bushnell, Malyn Johnson, Kermit Roeder and Andres Vega; November 11th – Audrey Capra and AnaMarie Capra; November 13th - Sharon Hobbs.

*****Anniversary congratulations on November 7th to Ernest and Joannie Topper; on November 9th to Les and Beth Sampson and Darryl and Sharon Weisenbaugh; and on November 10th to George and Robyn Henderson.

*****Tip for the week: Use vertical strokes when washing windows outside and horizontal for inside windows. This way you can tell which side has the streaks. Straight vinegar will get outside windows really clean. Don’t wash windows on a sunny day. They will dry too quickly and will probably streak.

*****I’ll see you again when there’s more news! Speaking of news, if you have some, email it to NEW EMAIL ADDRESS AT ped01@sprintpcs.com.
