Blanco County Farm Bureau is looking at another banner year for membership growth.

"Farming and ranching is important to the economic vitality of Blanco County," said Blanco CFB S & TAdrian Schulze. "We have set a goal of 50 new members for 2010.

The membership efforts of 207 county Farm Bureaus statewide raised the Texas Farm Bureau membership total in 2009 to 439,260, a gain of 17,101 member families. Farm Bureau’s national membership rose to 6,277,664, marking 49 years of consecutive growth.

"The grassroots strength of Farm Bureau at the local, state and national levels will ensure agriculture remains a viable industry," Schulze said. "Food security for our nation is ensured by a strong agricultural industry."
