Twenty four students from Johnson City competed in the 1A through 5A Regional Visual Art Scholastic Event the 27th of February. 29 artworks medaled with the highest score of 4 and five works of art placed second. These students worked well over 100 hours on their artwork, writing essays and practicing their art vocabulary for the one on one competition with a judge. Please congratulate these students for their outstanding artwork.

Students in Division I, 1st Place Medalists are: Olivia Anderson twice, Logan Lombard, Kayla Meier twice, Shelby Conlon twice, Tiffany Cox twice, Bryant Mc Dowell, Jesica Moran twice, Amanda McDonald, Jorge Regino, and Adam Lefford. 2nd Place winners: Imelda Martinez, Zach Stines and Amanda McDonald.

Students in Division 2, 1st Place Medalists are: Cory Hudson, Kourtney Smith, Megan Marks, Jordan Jones, Lacey DeLancey twice, Cesar Mesa twice. Second Place winners are: Kourtney Smith and Megan Marks.

Students in Division 3, 1st Place Medalists are: Tiffany Moreland, Kyla Peterson twice and Emily Vasquez twice.

Students in Division 4, 1st Place Medalists are: Shayla Painter and Dana Martinez.

Eight art students will be representing Johnson City High School in Houston with 10 works of art at the 2010 State Visual Arts Scholastic Event in Houston on April the 9th and 10th. These students are Olivia Anderson, Tiffany Cox with two pieces, Logan Lombard, Megan Marks, Bryant McDowell, Kayla Meier with two pieces, Tiffany Moreland and Jorge Regino.
