February 27, Garden Club Executives Christine Schulze (Treasurer), Pearl Hedlund (President) and "money maker" Joycelyn Carter (Committee Chairman of Crafts & Sales) met at the Johnson City Library to give the divided $8500.00 checks to Community Organizations.

The Library was awarded $2000.00 for their operations fund as well as a $500.00 to the Friends of the Library. Art Daniels, from North Blanco County EMS accepted a check for $2500.00. Whitney Liesmann, representing Johnson City Volunteer Fire Department accepted a check for $1500.00. Johnson City Community Education Foundation’s Joe Stewart accepted $1000.00. Friends of LBJ Park were given $500.00, accepted by Candy Falatco and Connie Harrison of Round Mountain Volunteer Fire Department attended to accept their check of $500.00.

The Crafts and Sales Committee, headed by Joycelyn Carter works year round on crafts to sell at the various events here in Johnson City, as well as Ways and Means Chairman, Nancy Talley, who is in charge of the plant sales during the Spring Wild Flower Festival and Chili Sale during Christmas.
