What is the Friends of the Library? It is an organization dedicated to promoting community support of the Library and retiring the debt through fundraisers, donations and benefactors. On Tuesday, members of the Friends made their first payment toward this goal of retiring the debt, through the generosity of the community and members of the Friends, a check for $14,000 was paid to the Johnson City Bank.

We have a long way to go, but we have begun and we will work to continue to pay this debt but we need your help and support. Many of you have joined the Friends, and we are hoping that more of you jump on the bandwagon and join to help with our goals!

We as a community are very proud of our Library. More people are enjoying it, taking advantage of all it has to offer, and supporting it. After all it is for the community. If you would like to help make our Library debt free, join the Friends. You can join at many different levels, stop by the Library pick up a brochure and become a member, all donations are tax deductible, and appreciated.

We will be having another book sale in April, so stay tuned for that. Visit the Library, check out a book, and inquire about the opportunities that we have at our Library, and be amazed at how lucky this community is to have this state of the art facility! It’s your Library, enjoy it, support it, and become a Friend!
