The Johnson City Eagle tennis team traveled to Mason on Thursday to compete in the Spring Smash Invitational. There were 18 schools represented with nearly 200 matches played. In Singles play, Jacob Sisson, Jacob Barbieri, and Samantha Preece played on the doubles side while Chris Eddy and Sergio Alvarado teamed up in doubles. The second boy’s doubles team was made up by Tome Johnson and Shawn McNease. Even though the Eagles may not have had the success they were looking for, this was a big lesson learner as to the endurance and speed needed to play competitively. The Eagles looked sharp on first serves and had good ground strokes. The Eagles will take these positives and work hard in practice before meeting up with Canyon Lake on March 11th.
