Members of C Battery, 6th Battalion, 84th Field Artillery will muster in Johnson City on March 6-7, 2010. This unit was activated in August 1967 at Fort Irwin, California to train and prepare for deployment to South Vietnam. The training was completed in December, the unit was declared ready for combat, and departed from Long Beach, California in January 1968. C Battery served with distinction in combat through out the central highlands of Vietnam until late 1969, at which time the unit’s equipment was turned over to the Army of Vietnam and personnel were returned home.

This is the first reunion of C Battery and after 40 years there is great excitement about reuniting. The reunion will be hosted by retired Army Major Jeff Gray, C Battery commander, and his wife Kathleen Marie Wilson. Traveling from all parts of the country and Central America, approximately 50 unit members and their wives are expected to attend.

These veterans will be staying in Johnson City motels, bed and breakfasts and RV parks. Please offer thanks to the veterans that proudly served their country.
