With gorgeous blue Texas skies and mild temperatures, voters came out and the results are in, with a total sweep by Republican candidates. Some interesting facts: There are 6,827 total registered voters in Blanco County. 30% of them voted in this election, not what one would consider a strong turnout. 37% (108) of Democrats voted early vs. 26% (469) of the Republicans. A total of 577 voted early out of 2087 total votes. There were no upsets in this election, with all incumbents retaining their positions. Congratulations to the winners, and thanks to all the candidates who ran. Win or lose, choosing to run for an elected position takes a great deal of time, effort, and funds. It also provides a competitive spirit and alternatives for the voters. We are blessed to live in America where we have the opportunity to choose our representation.
