Darlene and I visited Marble Falls Quilt Guild on Wednesday. We took 28 anti-ouch pouches to the meeting.

We missed the first half of the meeting because of the wreck on the bridge. So did several other ladies coming from the Spicewood area.

We did get to hear the wonderful program presented by Lynn Roddy Brown from the Houston area. She was the one speaker that Martha and I got to hear at the Houston Quilt Show. Basically it was the same program, but it was great to refresh my memory and make me want to do this.

She is a great block swapper. She swaps on the internet and with her friends. She shared several quilts that she had put together from her swapped blocks. She shared the importance of block value with us and showed how it helps to keep an open mind when swapping blocks because not every quilter has the same ideas about lights and darks or vintage or pastel. It is amazing to see all the different quilts she made from her blocks.

She encouraged each of us to start a swap block and see what we come up with. This would be a fun thing to do as a group or find a group on line that swaps as Mrs. Brown does. Use those scraps up and make something beautiful.

Happy Quilting, Janie
