*****Former Johnson City citizens Dwight & Brenda Brodbeck just moved to Homer, Louisiana. They are getting further & further from Johnson City!

*****Get well wishes to Marie Roeder! Marie had surgery on Thursday & is recuperating well at home.

*****Also heal quickly wishes to Sherry Jenkins. Sherry fell & broke her foot but is now sporting a bright hot pink cast! She can’t use crutches because of recent surgery on her wrist & is getting kind of "cabin fever"!

*****Had you heard that former resident John Tiff passed away in Fredericksburg on February 3rd? John volunteered with North Blanco Emergency Medical Services (NBCEMS) for over 24 years. A Memorial service will be held at St. Barnabas Episcopal Church, 601 W. Creek Street, in Fredericksburg, TX, on Saturday, February 13th, at 2 PM

*****The re-make of "True Grit" is coming to Texas and partially filmed in downtown Blanco, TX!!!! Casting Call has started THIS past weekend in Austin.

*****More get well wishes to Mary Stevenson! Mary had surgery this past week on her shoulder. She says she has lots of help recuperating

*****Joy Watson & Pat Dildine spent last weekend at a Scrapbook Retreat at the Fredericksburg Inn in Fredericksburg, Texas. They joined approximately 20 other scrapbookers, both manual & electronic, from Round Rock, Dripping Springs, San Marcos, Austin, Boerne, & even Nebraska!

*****Don’t forget the father/daughter dance on next Saturday evening in Blanco to benefit Relay for Life. They have carriage rides, pizza, professional photographer, punch and cookies, a party favor, door prizes, dance contest, thank you gift. Ronnie Batchelor is dj, Kenneth Moore is donating carriage rides, Gem of the Hills is donating facility, Subway in Blanco is donating cookies, Blanco Shell station is giving them a great discount on the pizza. Many great people are donating their time to help make this a successful family friendly fundraiser for American Cancer Society Relay For Life for Blanco County. If anyone would like to volunteer to help, give Wendy Smith a call at 210-842-1555.

*****Bob Anderson had surgery on his ankle at Nix hospital in San Antonio on Tuesday the 9th.

*****Mike and Laurie Park will celebrate their 24th wedding anniversary on 2/15... One more year to go for next year’s Silver party!

*****Tip for the week: Coca-Cola cure for rust... Forget those expensive rust removers. Just saturate an abrasive sponge with Coca Cola and scrub the rust stain. The phosphoric acid in the coke is what gets the job done.
