Jim Thayer passed away at his home on January 26, 2010. He is survived by his wife Phyllis; two sons, Billy and Mike of Llano; two daughters, Leah and Jeanett of Austin; parents, Edison and Laverne of Buda; brother, Ricky and wife Sharon of Floresville; sisters, Marilyn and husband Larry Basham of Houston, Tracy and John Mangione of Austin and Nancy and Craig Peebles of Maxwell. He also leaves behind his treasured friend Keri Berg.

Although for several years Jim had been unable to enjoy his love of golf and boating, he always looked forward to when he would be able to do them again.

His family is greatly saddened by his death and the many health issues that precipitated it. He was loved and will be missed by many. All who knew Jim will understand that his death was a release from a difficult and painful life.

A memorial service were held at 2:00 PM, Friday January 29, 2010 at Crofts Funeral Home, Johnson City.
