Dr. Dobson said, ‘A young girl will seek her father’s love first at home. If she doesn’t find it, she will seek it elsewhere.’ The importance of fathers and daughters having strong, healthy relationships is so needed in today’s society.

The Third Annual Blanco County Father-Daughter Dance gives you an opportunity to show your "little girl" how special she is to you. This enchanted evening is open to fathers & daughters fifth grade and younger.

Girls: invite your father, stepfather, grandfather, uncle, older brother or other important adult male in your life to share this special evening.

This special, area-wide, casual to semi-formal evening will be complete with Valentine decorations, cookies, wholesome music, girls in dresses, dads in ties, fathers giving corsages, and daughters learning how a gentleman treats a lady. "If just one little girl gets her busy dad to spend an evening with her, then our evening will be a success. Dads should set a dating standard of love and respect for their daughters. We want to show them how to have fun in a drug-free, alcohol-free and violence-free environment. Dads can’t always spend enough time with their daughter, but they can control the quality of the time they do have together. Making the effort is the important part. She’ll appreciate the attention and it’ll go a long way in strengthening her self-esteem." says Wendy Smith, Team Captain of the Relay For Life Night Pray-ers team.

An evening of fun music and entertainment will be provided by DJ Ronnie Batchelor, who has shared his talents for the past several years at this event.

Music includes favorites for dads and their dates. Also for the third year, local photo-artist Willard Gibbons will be donating his talents, taking photos that will be available for purchase. Pizza will also be available for a small donation.

Door prizes and awards will be given throughout the night including winners of various dance contests for dads and daughters, so start practicing now.

benefit the American Cancer Society Relay For Life, Blanco County.
