Senior Stewart Fannin and Sophomore Olivia Anderson traveled to Salado to compete in area debate. There were 26 teams from 14 schools. The teams ranged from as close as Blanco to as far away as Odessa.

Although Johnson City has a novice debate team, they competed with varsity teams from other schools. Coach Sherrill said of the debaters, "I’m proud of these guys for coming out and mixing it up with some good teams. They gave it everything and gained very valuable experience." This is sure to prepare them for the district meet in February.

This was the final meet of the year for the Eagles. They will pick up competition in January.
