John E. Miller, Jr. passed away December 14, 2009. He was born in Marble Falls, TX on May 10, 1933 to John E Miller, Sr. and Ruby Jones Miller. Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Jackie; his daughters, Jill Riley and husband Tommy of Burnet, and Shannon Riebesehl and husband Jon of Johnson City; as well as his grandsons Cade Riley, Jess Riley, Jaxon Riebesehl, and Trace Riebesehl.

After graduating from Marble Falls High School, he attended Southwest Texas State University and then served four years in the U.S. Marine Corps. During his time with the Marine Corps, he was assigned to a demonstration team for close air support. His flying expertise allowed him to serve with this elite group. During this time, he and Jackie were married in 1956 at the Church of the Good Shepherd in Austin. After leaving the Marine Corps, he attended the University of Texas Dental Branch in Houston. Upon graduation, Sonny started his dental practice in Burnet in 1963 practicing there until he retired in 2001. After retiring he spent most of his time enjoying his grandsons and the outdoors, the two things he loved most.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 PM on Thursday, December 17, and funeral services will be held at 2:30 PM on Friday, December 18 at Crofts Funeral Home, Johnson City, Texas. Interment will follow in Miller Creek Cemetery, Johnson City. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
