Remember the childhood game of Hopscotch? What fond memories I have of playing this game on the sidewalk or in the dirt. If you were fortunate enough to have a piece of chalk or find a rock that would chalk, you could draw this out on the sidewalk. Many times, we just etched it out in the dirt with our finger. You chose a rock and pitched it to the first block and hopped on one foot to the other end.

I have found a quilted version of Hopscotch. It is very colorful and numbered to 10. This would make a great gift for a younger child and introduce them to a piece of the past. You may even want to try the game again yourself. Go crazy!!!

This pattern is available at www.studioefabrics.com or just get out the colored chalk and make your own quilt on the sidewalk. It would be great to see people hopping all over town.

Get back to basics with this quilt and make things simple again. Let’s get hopping.

Happy Quilting, Janie
