Quilts and football games have gone together forever. They used what is called Stadium Blankets and they are very hard to find now, but guess what? I have found one and it is in my car, but it is not heavy enough to keep someone warm during a November or December football game. They are very lightweight. Therefore I always keep a heavy quilt in my car also. I keep it for ball games, picnics, or for just goofing off.

I have attended two play-off games this past month. I have grandchildren in Goldthwaite and they, as usual, have advanced in the play-offs and two of their games have been close enough for me to attend.

Upon arriving at the stadium in Marble Falls this past Friday night, the line was out to the parking lot and while standing there with my quilt; I noticed lots of other quilts on the arms of men and women alike. I really started to look around when I noticed so many quilts.

The one that really caught my eye was just a 4-inch patchwork quilt. It was very colorful and looked like it had seen quite a few ballgames.

I had fun looking at the different quilts and now I will start really watching for them in the future. It just goes to show you that you never know where you will see a quilt show.

Keep your quilt handy just in case you need one. I could have used two last week because it got quite cold at the game.

By the way, Goldthwaite won the game and they have advanced again. I have my quilt ready and am waiting to see if they will be close enough for me to attend.

Happy Quilting, Janie
