The Blanco County Community Choir will present their annual choral performance this weekend in Johnson City and Blanco. The Johnson City performance will be held at Community Church of the Hills on Friday, December 4 at 8:00 p.m. They will be in Blanco on Sunday, December 6 at the First Baptist Church at 7:00 p.m.

This volunteer choir has been giving Christmas performances since the 1970’s. Vickie Pautz is the director with Beverly Voron as the co-director. This year’s program will be an All-American Christmas.The pieces include arrangements of such familiar carols as "Away in a Manger", "O Little Town of Bethlehem", "I Heard the Bells on Christmas Day", and "Go Tell It On The Mountain". There will also be a song from the Moravian tradition "Oh! Come Little Children" and a Shaker tune "Followers of the Lamb". Other tunes such as "What Child is This?", "We Three Kings of Orient Are" and "Jazz Gloria" will be certainly be enjoyed by the audience.

The singers are sopranos: Heather Beliveau, Jane Copeland, Cheri Hampton, Evelyn Painter, Renee Benham, Judy Dorsett, Beverly Voron and Paige Whittaker. The altos are: Carolyn Boydston, Sandra Danz, Janie Jones, Priscilla Seals, Elizabeth Clark, Cheryl Eckenrode, Gwen Michal, Sherri Stockman, and Deb Yorgensen. The tenors are: Arlyn Cook, Charles Hampton, Jr., Arlis Hiebert, Alan Cooper, Marjorie Heard, Malissa Mollbewrg, and Joe Raymond. The basses are: Rick Bowen, John Jones, Doug Pautz, Edward Hines, Keith McClellan, and Stephan Porter. The pianist is Brenda Matheny.

The public is invited to these performances on Friday and Sunday. You will leave with delightful musical sounds bringing the spirit of Christmas into your heart.
