Bingo was on November 9th, 2009. Girling sponsored this for us and we really enjoy having that time with Karen Barksdale. On November 10th, 2009 Barbara Gourley with Texas Health Care Solutions sponsored our game day. It is so great that we have organizations that come in and see that we have some days of just pure fun.

We have tenants already starting the Christmas Spirit here. We want to be decorated for Thanksgiving weekend and we have several who put in long volunteer hours. Thanks to all of you for giving spirit to our little community.

My children’s father and my former husband, James W. Bible, passed away on Tuesday, November 3rd, 2009. He is survived by four sons and four daughters and by his wife Ann. I send blessings to you all and may your memories sustain you as mine do.

My son, Mike, was delivering some dirt to Foot Hood and got out before the shut down. He along with many others cannot believe that this happened to so many wonderful people. Foot Hood has our prayers. God Bless you all.

Red Hatters had a meeting this week and the Garden Club had their meeting also this week.

The Capital Area Food Bank (CAFB) will be here on Tuesday, November 17th, 2009, from 11:00 am till all food is distributed or till 1:00 pm, whichever comes first. They come to 304 S. Avenue F., Johnson City, Texas. They are here on the THIRD Tuesday of every month. Mark your calendar! Our voluntary help is limited and this requires that everyone that can to please make every attempt to be present to pick up your food. See you there!

Catholic Charities of Central Texas will be here on Tuesday, November 17th, 2009. Please free to phone the number below if you have anything that needs to be resolved soon. Catholic Charities of Central Texas is providing application materials and assistance in completing applications for CHIP (Children’s Health Insurance Program), Medicaid, Food Stamps, TANF (Temporary Assistance for Needy Families), Medicare Savings Program, and Long-Term Care Services. This service will be available at the Johnson City Housing Authority Community Room located at 304 S. Ave F, Johnson City, Texas. Persons may schedule appointments or be seen as walk-ins every 3rd Tuesday of the month from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm. However, for November 17th, 2009 Juanita will be here at 2:15 pm till ??? For appointments or additional information contact Juanita Vargas, Outreach Worker at (512) 753-9738. This is a free service to anyone in Blanco County.
