With the wonderful rain we have had and the cooler weather we feel like we have moved to another state. The outside looks beautiful and the deer and the turkeys just keep moving constantly making quite a show for us. Our pest control company could not spray on October 9th, 2009 because of the rain; however, they will be here on the 19th.

Everybody mark your calendar for October 16th, 2009. We are having a Free Hearing Test sponsored by National Hearing Center from 11:00 am till at least 2:00 pm. Please stop by 304 S. Ave. F. and use this service. Medicaid is accepted and most insurance also. Please bring all insurance papers with you.

On October 20th, 2009 we are having a Flu Shot Clinic @ our community room, 304 S. Ave. F. Anyone with Medicare is covered for free and the cost for anyone else is $25.00. Clinic will start at 10:00 A.M.

The Capital Area Food Bank (CAFB) will be here on Tuesday, October 20th, 2009, from 11:00 am till all food is distributed or till 1:00 pm, whichever comes first. They come to 304 S. Avenue F., Johnson City, Texas. They are here on the THIRD Tuesday of every month. Mark your calendar! Our voluntary help is limited and this requires that everyone that can please make every attempt to be present to pick up your food. See you there!

Catholic Charities of Central Texas will be here on Tuesday, October 20th, 2009. Please free to phone the number below if you have anything that needs to be resolved soon. Catholic Charities of Central Texas is providing application materials and assistance in completing applications for CHIP (Children’s Health Insurance Program), Medicaid, Food Stamps, TANF (Temporary Assistance for Needy Families), Medicare Savings Program, and Long-Term Care Services. This service will be available at the Johnson City Housing Authority Community Room located at 304 S. Ave F, Johnson City, Texas. Persons may schedule appointments or be seen as walk-ins every 3rd Tuesday of the month from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm. For appointments or additional information contact Juanita Vargas, Outreach Worker at (512) 753-9738. This is a free service to anyone in Blanco County.
