“What an incredible win we had tonight!” commented Coach Voron. Every game of this match was close and even saw the ladies down by five points or more. But, the Lady Eagles came to fight and proved they were the stronger team beating Comfort three out of the four games to win the match, 17-25, 25-21, 30-28, and 25-23. “Every game that it seemed like Comfort had almost won - our ladies came back with such a fight that Comfort could simply not compete against it!”, said Coach Voron, “I was so proud of these girls tonight – in fact all of Johnson City should be proud of the way these ladies competed!”

Another highlight of the match was when freshman Kaitlyn Hubbard went back to serve for the match with exceptional confidence-putting her serves over and in for the win. “Kaitlyn showed an amazing cool head tonight for a freshman”, commented Coach Voron. Exceptional play at the net was also seen by Amanda McDonald with 9 kills and Adrienne Pabon with 20 kills and 8 blocks. Great passing by Jessie Rios and Chandler Wagner also helped the ladies set up kill after kill. The Varsity’s only setter Kourtney Smith had 26 assists – but also put several “sneaky” sets over to stun Comfort’s defense into not knowing what the team was going to do next. “Tonight was a turning point – these ladies have lit a fire that I hope continues to burn!” said Coach Voron.

JV vs. Comfort Results

The Lady Eagle JV volleyball team struggled against Comfort last Friday night. They had a strong start with a 25-18 win in the first game, but lost 18-25 and 11-25 in the second and third games. “We made a few critical mistakes in the second game and lost our momentum. The girls tried to recover, but just couldn’t bring it back together after losing the second game,” said Coach Smith. “We learned a valuable lesson about pulling together and playing hard even when we are down a few points. I think this experience will serve to make this team better and stronger in the future.”

The Lady Eagles would love your support as they continue to fight for their district record playing Brooks Academy, Friday for the Homecoming match. JV will play at 4:00 at the Middle School, and Varsity will play at 4:00 at the High School.

Middle School Volleyball also competes against Comfort

The gray team won their match in three games. Erin Dahmann and Gracia Cruz did an awesome job serving. Kelly Danz led the Lady Eagles to the victory in the third game with 9 serves in a row.

The white team fought hard, but was defeated by Comfort. Katie Porter did a fabulous job serving throughout the games.

The maroon team defeated Comfort in an exciting three games. Katelyn Barrientes did an incredible job serving 15 points throughout the three games. Kiley Wood finalized the victory by serving an ace on the last point of the third game.

Way to go Lady Eagles! The Middle School Lady Eagles will be competing in a tournament this Saturday in Blanco. Come support your Lady Eagles!
