Lillian Gertrude Schaefer Gipson, 78, passed away Tuesday, September 22, 2009 in Fredericksburg, TX. Mrs. Gipson was born November 9, 1930 near Johnson City, Blanco County, Texas to Richard and Marie Hitzfeld Schaefer.

She attended school from first through the sixth grades at the Junction School which is now in the Lyndon B. Johnson National Historic Park. Then, she attended school in Fredericksburg, TX. She married Roy H. Gipson June 28, 1953 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Stonewall. Lillian was a member of First United Methodist Church in Johnson City.

Lillian was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Roy H. Gipson; son and daughter-in-law, Gaylon and Kathryn Gipson of San Antonio, TX; daughter and son-in-law, Tami and Jase Waller of Seminole, TX; and five grandchildren, Cory Gipson, Nicole Gipson, Bailey Waller, Kendyl Waller, and Hayden Waller.

Visitation was 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM Wednesday, September 23, 2009 at Crofts Funeral Home, Johnson City where funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Thursday morning with Rev. Bill Wiemers and Rev. Sid Spiller officiating. Interment will follow in Der Stadt Friedhof Cemetery in Fredericksburg. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of your choice.
