The owner of Kedar Quilts also provides quilting weekends at the Kedarburn Inn, Maine’s first authentic English Bed and Breakfast. They are nestled in the foothills of the White Mountains in Western Maine. The white frame house was built in 1858 and is set beside the flowing Kedar Brook. I mentioned this lovely little brook last week. Beautiful. They are located in Waterford Village, a place where you can step back to a slower pace of life and enjoy yourself.
Margaret has been quilting since she was a child in England. Quilting was a slower pace then. They bought this Inn 21 years ago and she made quilts for the beds. People liked them and wanted to buy them. This promoted the idea of a quilt shop. Then after many requests, she started the quilting weekends.
Today’s quilters move at a faster pace and new techniques become available every day. She can accommodate up to 12 quilters at a time. For more info on this quilting retreat in Maine, go to www.kedarquilts.com. Who knows, if you make it up there, you may get to see that moose that eluded Sherry and I.
Happy Quilting, Janie
