The Eagles opened up an exciting first quarter Friday night against the D’Hanis Cowboys. Junior Kris McDonald ran the opening kick-off back all the way for a touchdown. But the first quarter was a long scoring festival with each team scoring back to back. Senior Cody Atwood ran the second kick off back for a touchdown. After the Cowboys put another touchdown on the board the Eagles started their first drive. This drive ended with Atwood scoring on a 57 yard touchdown run with Junior Trent Rodriquez kicking in his third extra point for the evening. The first quarter ended with a score of 21 to 14 with the Eagles in the lead.

The second quarter began in the same scoring fashion as the first with Cody Atwood carrying the ball into the end zone on a 61 yard run, again the extra point was good by Rodriquez. The Cowboys scored another touchdown, but on their next possession Cody Atwood intercepted a pass and returned it 80 yards for the Eagles touchdown.

The Eagles played a hard fought game with the offensive line going up against a good defense from the Cowboys. The Eagles passing game was shut down, but they moved the ball on the ground for good long touchdown yardage.

The Eagles did not score after the half and allowed 3 more Cowboy touchdowns. Final score 41 to 34 D’Hanis.
