Students interested in completing an undergraduate degree at Texas Tech University (TTU) at Fredericksburg should be aware that the application deadline is August 1 for admission for the fall semester. Junior and senior level courses are available to complete Bachelor of General Studies (BGS) or Bachelor of Science in Multidisciplinary Studies degrees (elementary teacher education) at the off-campus sites in the Hill Country.
Students must have at least 45 hours of undergraduate core curriculum courses completed (freshmen and sophomore level classes) to be eligible to transfer for either degree program. These classes may be taken at Austin Community College in Fredericksburg or transferred from another college or university.
For the BGS degree, the undergraduate student can choose three areas of concentration to study from these available: English, History, Psychology, Sociology, General Business, and Restaurant, Hotel, and Institution Management.
In the teacher education program, students prepare to become certified elementary and English as a Second Language teachers. New students for this program are admitted each fall and complete the program in a cohort. Teaching assistants in area public schools may be eligible for a state tuition and fee waiver to help them become certified teachers.
Classes are designed for working professionals and meet in evening and weekend sessions in a blended delivery of face to face classes and interactive video conferencing at the Fredericksburg TTU classrooms and online.
