Jay Waugh, age 78 of Llano, passed away on July 1, 2009 in Llano. Jay was born on May 25, 1931 to Fred Waugh and Birdie (Robbins) Waugh in Johnson City. He was a Heavy Equipment Operator for Bob Bender Construction. He married Lynda Pehl on December 12, 1980 in Johnson City. He had been a resident of Llano since 1980, having moved there from Marble Falls. Jay was a member of Lutie Watkins Memorial United Methodist Church in Llano. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Roy Waugh.

Survivors include his wife, Lynda Waugh of Llano, 2 daughters Michelle Ashabranner and her husband Jay of Llano and Gina Lehne and her husband Burton of Llano, 1 son Roy Jay Waugh of Houston, one sister Vera Liesmann of Johnson City, and numerous grandchildren.

Graveside services were held on Thursday, July 2, 2009 at 2:00 PM at the Llano City Cemetery in Llano, with Rev. Stan Troy officiating.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Bob Bender, Bern Osbourn, Donnie Liesmann, Mark Leismann, and Mitchell Liesmann.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Llano Hospice.
