The Walker Bros. Circus was in town on May 1st. It was held at the Blanco County Show Barn. This was a very nice time and full of fun. I hope they come back soon. And to top this, on May 9th was the JCVFD Fish Fry. This is always the best and you get to see so many friends that you haven’t seen in awhile.

Our Bake Sale went very well. We have awesome cooks and the desserts just rolled out oozing with unbelievable flavor. If you miss it, watch right here for when we plan on having another one.

To all mothers, I hope your Mother’s Day was unforgettable.

I have a doctor’s appointment in Austin this week and my son, Ray Bible, is having a birthday this week. Happy Birthday son.

I hope everybody remembers our FREE Hearing Test. National Hearing Center was here on May 13th, 2009 from 9:00 A.M. — ??. The services that we receive here are far beyond anything I can imagine.

We will play Bingo on May 18th, 2009 in our community room @ 1:00 P.M.

The Capital Area Food Bank (CAFB) will be here on Tuesday, May 19th, 2009, from 11:00 am till all food is distributed or till 1:00 pm, whichever comes first. They come to 304 S. Avenue F., Johnson City, Texas. They are here on the THIRD Tuesday of every month. Mark your calendar!

Catholic Charities of Central Texas will be here on April May 19th, 2009. Please free to phone the number below if you have anything that needs to be resolved soon. Catholic Charities of Central Texas is providing application materials and assistance in completing applications for CHIP (Children’s Health Insurance Program), Medicaid, Food Stamps, TANF (Temporary Assistance for Needy Families), Medicare Savings Program, and Long-Term Care Services. This service will be available at the Johnson City Housing Authority Community Room located at 304 S. Ave F, Johnson City, Texas. Persons may schedule appointments or be seen as walk-ins every 3rd Tuesday of the month from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm. For appointments or additional information contact Juanita Vargas, Outreach Worker at (512) 753-9738. This is a free service to anyone in Blanco County.
