Well, we are playing hooky again. It is Sunday and we are headed to Brownwood for their Quilt Show. Darlene, Delbert and myself met Jackie and her friend in Brownwood and took in the quilts.

There were over 150 quilts and plenty of vendors. Jackie, the one sister who does not quilt, came right in and registered for a door prize and WON. Darlene and I did not win anything, but we did get to look at lots of pretty quilts and we bought chances on their raffle quilt.

After the quilt show, we headed for the smoky Red Wagon for a great turkey and dressing lunch. This little café has been in Brownwood for years, kind of like the Bowling Alley Café in Blanco. They have great plate lunches.

From there we went back to Goldthwaite and stopped by to see my son, David, and his family. They have a lovely home on a hilltop outside of town. While we were there having tea, my daughter-in-law let me borrow her Star Quilt and David loaned me the quilt his mother-in-law had made and given to him upon his return from his second tour of duty in Iraq. It was, of course, red, white, and blue. Both of these quilts are great and they were in my Outdoor Quilt Show.

We had a great time and saw lots of pretty quilts, scenery, and of course, grandkids.

Until next time, Happy Quilting, Janie.
