Kirchman Galleries in Johnson City will open a new exhibition, THE HEART OF THE MATTER, ART FOR THE VALENTINE SEASON, with a reception from 4-7 on Saturday the 24th of January. It is free and open to the public at Kirchman Gallery I, located at 213 N Nugent (across from the Courthouse Square. A new, second location (Kirchman Gallery II) has now opened at 305 E Main (290 W) also in Johnson City.

This year the Valentine show features the sumptuous encaustic paintings by Darrell Troppy from Beaumont. Heart and Flower images dominate the show. Landscapes and Figurative works add depth to this artist’s collection of luscious, deeply layered paintings which incorporate rich layers of metallic and iridescent pigments. This is the Third Annual Valentine show at the gallery. Last year Darrell showed 18 heart pieces, which quickly sold out. This year he has added the Landscape and Figurative work.

THE HEART OF THE MATTER will be showing at the Nugent Street location through the end of February. Gallery hours are 11-6 every day except Tuesday and Wednesday, when Kirchman Galleries are closed. More information can be found at www.kirchmangallery.com.
