Thursday, December 13, 2012 • Posted December 13, 2012

The Johnson City Eagles boys basketball team sprinted out to a quick lead over Our Lady of the Hills on Friday evening and ran away with a convincing 47-15 victory to improve their overall record to 4-4. LBJ used their pressure half court defense to force 12 first period turnovers by OLH and the Eagles converted those turnovers into numerous fast break points to give themselves a commanding 22-1 lead after the first quarter. LBJ continued to execute well offensively and defensively throughout the remainder of the game as they coasted to the victory. This was the only game for the Eagles last week. This week, they will take on Faith Academy on Tuesday evening in Marble Falls and then participate in the Medina Invitational Tournament on Friday and Saturday, December 13th and 14th. The Eagles will play Brune Charter School at 11:30 am on Friday, the outcome of that game will determine their schedule for the remainder of the tournament. In the OLH game Jade Cones was high scorer with 18 points, a season high for him, he was followed by Chase Klaerner and Will Rutherford who each scored 8 points. Cones also led the team in steals with 4, while Rutherford led in tips with 4. Klaerner led the Eagles in rebounding with 6 boards followed by Wade North with 5. Jaxon Riebesehl led the team in assists with 4.
