The 7B Lady Eagles worked very hard and topped Lago Vista, 8-4 on Monday night. “The girls did a great job of trying to run the offense and hustled every single play of the game,” Coach Trujillo said. Alexis McDougal was the top player with 4 points and several rebounds. The 7A Lady Eagles led the entire game but ran out of gas at the end, falling to Lago Vista in overtime, 12-18. “The girls played with heart and gave it their all in a tough overtime loss. We only had 6 players so everyone was exhausted. The kids did a much better job of executing the offense and press break,” Coach Trujillo said. Mya McMillan had a great game with 8 points, 6 blocked shots and multiple rebounds. The LBJMS Girls 8th A Basketball team suffered their second loss of the season to a talented Lago Vista team. The final score was 18-43. The Lady Eagles were only down three after the first quarter, but couldn’t keep the momentum up for the next two quarters and quickly fell into a big point deficit. They rallied in the fourth quarter, but it was too little, too late. The team needs to concentrate on limiting turnovers which our opponents are turning into easy points. We’ll continue to work hard to limit our mistakes and see if we can’t get back on track. Our next game will be December 10th in Ingram.POINTS: Kailey Ockman-11; Emily Matjeka-3; Alyssa Rose-2; Tessa Fields-2BEST OFFENSE: Kailey Ockman BEST DEFENSE: Emily Matjeka
