Pre-Thanksgiving Child Car Seat Inspection Set for November 14th
Thursday, November 8, 2012 • Posted November 8, 2012

The Marble Falls Area EMS and Texans In Motion at Scott & White Healthcare will have a car seat safety event by appointment for area residents on Wednesday, November 14, 2012 from 10:00am – 1:00pm at 609 Industrial Boulevard, Marble Falls. According to a September 2012 report released by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the five most common car seat mistakes are: 1. Using incorrect harness slots 2. Harness retainer/chest clip too low 3. Safety seat moves more than 1" 4. Loose harness straps 5. Lap belt lies across the stomach During a safety seat check, certified technicians will check for recall information, educate caregivers about proper installation and provide future child passenger safety information to accommodate a growing child. Children will need to be with a parent or other adult caregiver during the inspection. Items should be cleared from the vehicle in order to allow technicians access to the child safety seats. If a car seat is found to be outdated or not meeting child safety seat standards, it may need to be replaced. Funding for the Texans In Motion at Scott & White Healthcare project is provided, in part, by the Texas Department of Transportation. To make an appointment for the November 14th event, please call 830-693-7277, before noon on Monday, November 12. To learn about future events, contact Texans In Motion at Scott & White Healthcare at 512-336-3423 and 512-509-0200.
