Thursday, July 30, 2009 • Posted July 30, 2009

Jack Fairchild, certified clinical nutritionist, will present ways to cleanse the body of toxins when he speaks at the Wellness Center Tues., Aug. 4, from noon to 1 p.m.

The class will cover: facts about toxins and their origin; how toxicity can affect health; the most common signs and symptoms of toxin buildup; ways to reduce exposure; how to remove toxins from one’s system; the three stages of bio-detoxification and their importance; and specific diet, lifestyle and supplementation needs required to support a body’s bio-detoxification process.

This free class is the fifth in a series of seven to be offered at the Wellness Center in July and Aug. called, “Demystifying Alternative Health Therapies.”

Fairchild said there can be harmful levels of toxins found in some daily foods and in some elements of the environment. “I’ll show how the body must deal with those toxins in order to stay healthy,” he said. “We’ll discuss how the liver, lymphatic system, G.I. and immune system try to maintain safe levels and what might occur if they cannot.”

Fairchild owns Metabolic & Nutritional Assessments, a national nutritional consulting company based in Kerrville. He develops nutritional programs for balancing body chemistry and regaining and maintaining good health. He holds a fellowship in applied clinical nutrition from the American Council of Applied Clinical Nutrition. He is board certified in clinical nutrition by the International and American Association of Clinical Nutritionists, and he is licensed as a dietitian-nutritionist by the State of New York.

Reservations for the class are required call the Wellness Center at (830) 997-1355.
