The Master Gardeners of Blanco County would like to invite everyone interested to come and learn about soil, compost, and plant diseases. We are hosting two events, and hope that you will join us.

Tuesday February 5 at 1 PM

Dr. Mark Black will talk about plant diseases and control. He will give an overview of agents that cause plant diseases, and strategies to minimize these diseases. Dr. Black is a professor and Texas Extension Service specialist in plant pathology. His lecture will be held at the Hoppe Room across from the AgriLife extension office at 101 E Cypress in Johnson City. Free to the public.

Thursday February 7 at 6 PM

A dinner and lecture will be held at the Stonewall Chamber of Commerce at 250 Peachtree Street. Dr. Mark McFarland, soil expert and professor for the Texas Extension Service, will share information about your soil to help you have a successful garden and a beautiful yard. If you know the composition of your soil, you can amend it for better results in your lawns and gardens. Please contact the AgriLife office at 830-868-7167 to reserve a place. The cost is $10.
