    *****For all you Johnson City Moms and dads, Little League registration will be at the Little League fields on January 19th from 1-3 pm. Then again on January 27th from 2-5 pm & then on February 2nd from 1-3 pm. Late registration is the 9 & 16th, but that’ll cost you an extra $20. So come early. *****First United Methodist Church Youth will be hosting a Souper Bowl Fundraiser on Sunday, Feb. 3 from 11am-1pm in the Church Activity Center. Come celebrate Super Bowl Sunday with a bowl of hot soup, home made cornbread, decadent desserts and a drink. Donations will be accepted to help support upcoming Youth Program activities. *****This past weekend at YCAP GRADES 5-8 played Broom Hockey! Everyone Grabbed a broom and came on down for an epic night of BROOM HOCKEY. They hosted a tournament and the winners scored some prizes. Pool tables and video games were also available along with free food! *****Good Shepherd Catholic Church took 8 kids & (3 chaperones) to DCYC55 2013 (Diocese Catholic Youth Conference) in Waco for the whole weekend. The weekend was filled with a rock bank - Soundwave - with workshops, key note speakers, Mass and lots of fellowship. There were over 2400 people sharing their faith and growing closer to God. It was am amazing experience. Kids that went were Angie Ramirez, Jacky Medrano, Jenna Vasquez, Hector Alvarez, Morgan Linsey, Thomas Tobolka, Jorge Zagada, Michael Trevino, Michelle Galloway, Patty Tobolka, and Margie Vasquez. And did I mention there was a Rock band and lots of concerts *****It is Stock Show Week here in Blanco County! Make sure to find time to visit the kids and see their animal, craft, cooking, canning, welding, furniture, art, photography and hobby projects. January 24th - 26th. If you are wanting to see all the kids & animals showing come Thursday & Friday. Then come back Saturday for the Auction that starts at 1:00. The other Exhibits like crafts, cooking, hobbies, welding, furniture, and sewing can be seen and bid on from 9 to 5 on Friday and then again from 10 to 12 noon Saturday. Folks, if you want to see dedicated, hard working, kids at work this is your chance. The exhibit Hall is going to be filled to the top because the number of kids entered and the number of entries are up considerably from last year. Remember the Showbarn has the animal projects and The Exhibit Hall has everything else. Tons to see so don’t miss it. Don’t worry about food we got that covered too with an excellent food and drink stand. See you there! *****Chili Cook off fundraiser for the Youth at First Baptist Church on Saturday. Check in is at 4 pm Saturday, January 26th. Judging is at 5 pm & dinner is at 6:00 pm. *****A Valentine Dinner is planned at First Baptist Church on February 14th. Call the church office at 868-7252 for more information. *****The North Blanco Emergency Services District (NBCESD) held their regular monthly meeting with all but one member attending. Officers were re-elected - President Ed Hullum, Vice President David O’Bannon, Secretary/Treasurer Kay Odiorne, & Assistant Treasurer Gene Yentsen. All of the emergency services organizations had representatives present.
