The 7B Lady Eagles won their third straight game with a 16-7 victory over the visiting Comfort Deer.

“All the girls hustled and worked together as a team. They are improving every week,” Coach Trujillo said.

Alicia Guerrero was once again the top scorer with 10 points. Jackie Henriquez and Ashtyn Portie were cited for great defense.

The 7A Lady Eagles dropped another very close contest on Monday night, this time to the Deer of Comfort, 17-18.

“We were down 9-2 after the first quarter but the girls got back in it and fought until the very end. All of our games have been extremely close. We need to continue to work on executing the basics like free throws and lay ups,” Coach Trujillo said.

Mya McMillian led the Lady Eagles with 13 points. Alexis McDougal and Kacie Regino were cited for doing a great job of rebounding the ball.

8th GRADE LBJMS POINTS: Kailey Ockman-13; Emily Matjeka-6; Tessa Fields-4; Jazmin Aguilar-3; Karli Metcalf-2; Kaitlyn Arvesen-2

SUMMARY: The LBJMS Girls 8th A Basketball team picked up their first win of the season beating Comfort 30-10. After getting off to a sluggish start and dropping the first quarter 2-4, the Lady Eagles finished the game on a 28-6 run. Our defense was very aggressive and was able to create many Comfort turnovers. It was a great team effort. The Lady Eagles next game will be at home, January 10th, against Blanco.
