We would like to publicly express our sincere gratitude and appreciation for the support that PEC gives our community and all of the member communities that PEC serves. One special way that PEC serves the community of Johnson City is through the Lights Spectacular event that is held during the Christmas holiday season. People drive from miles around to see the gorgeous lights that wrap the trees on the PEC corporate headquarters. PEC also assists in the hanging of some of the other lights that are part of the Lights Spectacular decorations. The Marble Falls District Office of PEC deserves special recognition for their efforts in ‘getting the job done’ on this particular portion.
Of course, PEC also supports special programs through their grants. The Lights Spectacular organization is one of those recipients. Those aforementioned visitors to Johnson City spend a significant amount of money while they are visiting. Those dollars translate into much needed sales tax revenue for Blanco County and Johnson City. Those dollars also translate into JOBS for the citizens of our area. When people have jobs, they spend more money which translates into more sales tax revenue and on and on. So, many, many thanks PEC for your current support and for all of the support in past years!
A mention of Lights Spectacular would be remiss without a big thank you to Rhonda Stell, Alton Moreland, James Deal, Ronnie Batchelor, Cruz Lopez, Shelly Clausen, June and Will Dahmann, Norma Honeycutt, Jocelyn Carter, Jerry Cade, Vicky Ralph and Lisa Lusk. Of course, that is just a partial list of integral volunteers through the years (we apologize for any unintentional omissions). They have spent many long hours volunteering for this Johnson City event and we are grateful for their commitment year after year!
Last but certainly not least, thank you to David Dockery, JC City Council and The City of Johnson City for their support and efforts in making this beautiful and important annual event happen in our little town!
