Family Fun Day The Harvest Point Church in Johnson City (across from Stripes) will host a free family fun day on Saturday, June 19 from 2 to 5 p.m. There will be a water slide, bounce houses, as well as food and refreshments. There will also be face painting and free drawings.
Summer Reading Kick-Off The Johnson City Public Library will host a day of fun for summer readers on Saturday, June 5 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. There will be live music from Ted Frumkin & Family, fun activities, and refreshments. Animal Documentary The library will begin a weekly screening of an animal documentary each Monday at 10 a.m.
Pajama StoryTime Wear your pajamas, enjoy a story, and do a fun craft just in time to get home for bed! For children pre-school to 2nd grade age at the Johnson City Library on May 27, starting at 6:30 p.m. LBJHS Graduation Graduation will be held on Friday, May 28 at Eagle Field at 6 p.m. Jurassic Experience Travel back to the time of dinosaurs at Jurassic Experience on Saturday, May 29!
Homeschool Day: Coding Plug into creative ways to learn the basics of computer coding at the Science Mill’s last Homeschool Days of the 2020-21 school year. Make fire flow and pumpkins grow with Harry Potter-inspired coding games and design a binary bracelet with a secret message in computer code. To see what’s really happening behind the code, combine gears, switches and marbles to build a mechanical computer!
JCVFD Board Meeting JCVFD will meet for a regular business meeting on April 28 at 6 p.m. Blanco County Rotary Club The Rotarians will meet on May 3 at noon at Proof and Cooper at the Lumberyard, and invite the public to attend. Movie Night The Johnson City Library will host movie night on May 4 at 5 p.m.
Homeschool Day: Earth Science April’s Homeschool Day at the Science Mill will be offered from 10am to 2pm on April 22. Visit sciencemill.org for more information. Blanco County will be holding its countywide household waste collection event on Saturday, April 24. Bring your recyclables to the county drop-off location, the Blanco County/Waste Connections Transfer Station at 377 Transfer Road in Johnson City. The event is sponsored by Blanco County, Blanco Pedernales Underground Water Conservation District, and Keep Blanco Beautiful.
On Thursday, May 6th high school art students are invited to Lakeside Pavilion to participate in the annual Paint the Town festival. The budding artists will be provided an art demonstration and then are paired with competition artists to paint plein air together.
